Until May 15th, the East Atlanta Security Patrol is offering the opportunity to become a member without waiting until our next normal entry date of July 1st. Any household paying by May 15th will receive free membership through June 30th, with their official membership beginning on July 1st. If you join after May 15th, you'll be subject to the usual rules where membership begins on the first day of the next quarter, which will be July 1st.
For anyone traveling this summer, this is a good opportunity to join the EASP and have extra attention paid to your home while you are away. Members can submit a form which states who can be on their property, emergency contact numbers and vehicles that should be present. Officers from both APD and the EASP are provided with this information, and can monitor your home with extra care while you are away.
One of the other key benefits of membership is that patrols are largely based on how many members there are in your area. If your street has twenty members, you can expect to receive significantly more patrol time than a street with three members. Of course more members also means more patrol hours, so the community as a whole benefits when you join, not just your street.
You do not need to be the owner of the house where you pay for service. Renters may join, and we have numerous owners who pay for service at their rental properties.
If you have any questions, give the EASP a call at 404-954-1568, or send an email to [email protected].
