It appears as though significant progress has been made in identifying and arresting the men connected to a number of burglaries in East Atlanta and other surrounding neighborhoods. APD had identified Nigel Upshaw in connection with multiple burglaries, and was finally able to arrest him on December 22nd. There were two burglaries in East Atlanta on December 22nd, but none since Mr. Upshaw was arrested. An unconfirmed source told us that he was arrested along with a murder suspect, so the community should be happy to hear that he is off the streets and will be looking at some substantial prison time. From what we've heard, other suspects have been identified so it's likely more arrests are forthcoming.

It's hard to be happy knowing anyone will face "substantial prison time" -- given how unlikely that is to improve their life once they come out (so they're likely to Crime again).

Ridwan, it’s easier to be happy in this instance when you’re the VICTIM.

You are correct that prison doesn't solve all problems. In this particular case, this guy and the people he hangs around with are bad dudes. You really do want them incarcerated. The next time may be a longer sentence with a more serious crime. The best thing you can do is volunteer your time to help every kid in our area have a great education and afterschool experiences so they don't repeat this guy's mistakes. Comments are closed.
