APD is now accepting applications for the next class of the Atlanta Police Citizen’s Police Academy. The Academy is open to any City of Atlanta resident or anyone who works in the City who is over 21 years of age and can pass a background check. The application is attached.
The mission of the class is the education of Atlanta citizens in the operations and practices of their Atlanta Police Department. The program encourages participants to provide feedback necessary to foster enhanced police and community relations.
The Atlanta Citizens Police Academy includes twenty-plus hours of skilled and professional instruction delivered in three-hour sessions. The Academy will take place on eight Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm - 9:00 p.m, from May 14, 2024 - July 2, 2024.
