East Atlanta continues to experience positive news relative to crime.  In addition to low rates of burglary and armed robberies this year, Zone 6 made an arrest this past week which tied an area resident to a burglary and car break-in
on Clifton.  It would not be surprising if this suspect was also responsible for other recent crimes on Clifton and Braeburn Drive.  And for the week ending September 20th, only three petty crimes were reported in East Atlanta, which is really great news for our high crime season.  You can view the latest crime reports anytime on our website.

Don't forget that you only have a couple more days to join the EASP for the fall quarter, which runs through December.  Joining is a great way to secure extra patrols for your household if you'll be away for Thanksgiving or during the winter holidays.  Also keep in mind that the EASP allocates patrols based on where members are located, so more members on your street means more frequent patrols.

Finally, all members of the community can help to reduce crime.  Call in suspicious activity immediately to 911 and then follow with a quick call to the EASP at 404-954-1568.  Many people wait hours before notifying us of suspicious activity, at which point the information is far less valuable.  Calling right away gives our officer a chance to locate the person or vehicle you've seen before they commit a crime.  Anyone can call the EASP to report crimes or suspicious activity, but paid members are what makes it possible to employ these extra off-duty APD officers, who are armed, in uniform, and have full arrest powers.
