Early this afternoon, there was a homicide in East Atlanta on Hilburn near Montvallo. The EASP officer on duty reported that it appears that there was some sort of setup, as the shooter was picked up by what is believed to be a small black car immediately after shooting the victim. There is no evidence that the victim lived on Hilburn, or that there is any ongoing risk to residents on Hilburn or neighboring streets. With this being an active homicide investigation, it's unlikely that the EASP will be able to provide any updates unless a suspect is arrested. However, should we receive any information to share with the public regarding this homicide, we will pass it along.
