After going over a month without a burglary in East Atlanta, there have been two reported this week, one on May Avenue and one on Flat Shoals Road. All eyes are on Christopher Dennis, released from jail on March 5th. Whether or not he is involved in these crimes, we should expect more crime as the weather improves. Be proactive and call 911 followed by the EASP at 404-954-1568 for all suspicious activity. This particularly includes unwanted door knockers, whether they make an excuse for being at your home, or are asking for money. For example, a man named Deandre is being reported around the area asking for money. It appears he may also be breaking into cars. Posted below are pictures of Deandre from earlier this week. If you see him or he comes to your door, call 911 and the EASP.
The crime reports for the week ending March 14th have been posted to our website. The only two reported crimes were car break-ins of unlocked cars, although one person left a gun in their unlocked car.
March 31st is the final day to join the EASP for the upcoming quarter. It takes about 30 new members to support an additional four hour shift each week, and we'd love to be able to add some more hours over Easter, Spring Break and after school ends in late May. All of our revenues come from our members, so community support is vital to keeping an extra police presence in the East Atlanta community.
