We are repeating the alert from earlier this week for the Clifton Road and Braeburn Circle areas. We are warning all residents of this area to be extremely cautious during the hours between 5:30 and 6:30, since there have been at least three if not four incidents during this timeframe. The only significant description we have yet is from the incident on December 9th on Rockland.
We are urging all residents to call 911 and the EASP at 404-954-1568 (470-315-2360 for the Dekalb Patrol) if you see anything or anyone remotely suspicious. And if your alarm goes off and you’re home, call 911 immediately. If you have an alarm, use the Instant setting when you are at home, not Stay. Should someone enter through a door, Instant will cause the alarm to go off without delay.
1. On Saturday December 7th between 3:30 pm and 1:30 am, there was a burglary in the 1800 block of Rockland Drive on the Atlanta side of the street.
2. On Monday morning December 9th around 6:30, there was a residential armed robbery in the 1700 block of Rockland Drive near Hilburn on the unincorporated Dekalb side of the street. The residents had been sleeping, but
were not harmed. The perpetrator was described as a black male, 6’2” and about 200 pounds.
3. On Monday evening December 9th, there was a burglary in the 600 block of Clifton at 9:20 pm. This was caught on videotape, and the perpetrators seemed to be in no major hurry even with the alarm going off. They were driving a white Chrysler 300.
4. On Tuesday evening December 10th between 7:30 – 8:00 pm, there was a burglary in the 1800 block of Braeburn Circle.
5. On Wednesday morning December 11th about 5:45 am, a burglary was attempted in the 1700 block of Jobeth near Clifton. In attempting to open the resident's window, they set off the alarm. Like the incident Monday morning on Rockland Drive, the resident was at home sleeping. The perpetrator was not found.
6. On Wednesday morning December 11th between 5 am and 9:30 am, there was a burglary in the 2000 block of Settle Circle. The resident claims this is the fourth time that they have been burglarized.
7. On Thursday morning December 12th, in the 2000 block of Settle Circle just a few houses from the burglary the morning before, there was another residential armed robbery. A man was held at gunpoint at 5:35 am while warming up his wife’s car. He was forced into his house and he and his wife had to lay on the floor while he searched for valuables. No one was hurt in this incident.
8. On Friday afternoon at about 5:05 pm, an attempted burglary occurred in the 800 block of Flat Shoals Way. Neighbors called police before entry was made. Three suspects escaped in a white Chrysler 300, believed to be the same vehicle used on Monday evening on Clifton. Police were able to arrest the 20 year old male driver and impound the vehicle, and are trying to determine who the other two suspects are. The vehicle is supposedly not stolen, so probably belongs to a family member or girlfriend. He has been arrested for multiple burglaries, and was recently sentenced to four years to serve two. We’ll be trying to determine on Monday why he was on the street.
If anyone would like to work with the DA on this case, please call the East Atlanta Security Patrol at 404-954-1568.
We’ll assist you with whom to contact. We want to make sure the public is in attendance when needed in order to keep this man locked up.
