On Sunday, there were burglaries in the Clifton and Flat Shoals area. One was at 1746 Rockland (Dekalb side of the street) about 11:30 a.m. through a rear window. No suspect or vehicle information is known thus far. The other was late afternoon at 1627 Jobeth through a rear door, with the suspects described as 4-5 young black males using a four door white sedan. In both burglaries, they were able to take multiple electronic items.
If you have any information about these burglaries, please call the EASP at 404-954-1568. Even a suspicious vehicle that you saw around those times could be helpful. Until we see if this becomes an ongoing problem, be more diligent than usual in calling in all suspicious activity in that area. We really need prompt calls to 911 followed by a call to the EASP when you see suspicious activity. And remember that all suspicious activity is cause for calling 911. No actual emergency needs to be occurring to call 911. Before you call the EASP, you should always have called 911. Please wait to post to social media until after you’ve made these calls, as receiving a call an hour after you’ve seen the suspicious activity is not likely to help officers locate the persons or vehicle that you saw. One of the reasons we advise calling the EASP after 911 is that suspicious activity is not always dispatched in a timely manner. The EASP officers can respond to those calls right away, sometimes arriving on the scene even before the 911 call has been dispatched. However, EASP officers do not work 24X7, so it still makes sense to always call 911 first.
