The EASP is currently accepting new members, but the window to join ends on April 1st. The next opportunity to enroll will be on July 1st. With warmer weather bringing a higher threat of crime, we encourage you to join the EASP today. The amount of time that the officers patrol is determined by the level of financial support from the community. More memberships and donations mean more patrol hours, so we encourage you and your neighbors to support the EASP.
The EASP enhances public safety in East Atlanta by employing off-duty Zone Six police officers to perform additional patrols within Beat 612, which is the police designation for the East Atlanta community. Membership is $50 per quarter, with a one-time fee of $15 to cover administrative costs and an EASP yard sign.
Among the member benefits of the EASP are extra patrols while you're out of town. Members can submit a form and have extra attention paid to their homes by both the EASP officers and APD officers, in addition to the regular patrols provided by the EASP officers. The other main benefit of membership is more patrols for your street, as the EASP allocates patrol coverage based on where members live. Increasing membership on your street means a larger share of the total patrol time
In addition to proactive patrols in our community, the EASP works closely with the Atlanta Police Department and other adjoining security patrols to share information about crime threats or new patterns of crime. When appropriate, we share this information with the community via our website, Facebook and Twitter. The EASP also publishes detailed crime reports on our website as soon as they become available.
If you have additional questions or wish to become a member, please email easp610@gmail.com, call 404-954-1568, or visit easecuritypatrol.com. If you have a public safety issue that requires an immediate police response, please call 911 prior to contacting the EASP. However, we do encourage you to call the EASP immediately after 911. EASP officers often respond before the call is even dispatched by the 911 system. You do not need to be a member to contact the EASP, but memberships are the primary source of revenue and increase our ability to fund more patrols. The EASP is staffed only by volunteers, so all of your membership fees are used to pay for patrol hours.
